Dec. 7 Wedding is Announced
The wedding of Miss Marilyn Hitchew, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. O.C. Hitchew of Dayton and Mr. Charles E. Grimm, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur E. Grimm of this city, took place in the First Lutheran Church, Dayton on Sunday, December 7, at three thirty in the afternoon.
The single ring service was read by Reverend Zimmerman, pastor of the church, before an altar decorated with baskets of flowers and lighted tapers, preceded by a half hour of organ music.
The bride chose a wedding gown fashioned of white slipper satin, and her flowers were white roses.
Miss Mary Brechtl was matron of honor, wearing a blue taffeta gown and MissesMary Lou Baxter and Bernice Sheehan were bridesmaids dressed in yellow taffeta.
Little Kay Foster was the flower girl.
Robert, Roger and Paul Grimm and Mack Woodgeard were ushers.
The bride's mother was dressed in a powder blue dinner dress with white accessories, and wore a corsage of pink rose-buds, while the groom's mother was dressedina fuschie dinner dress, with which she wore combined black accessories.
Her corsage was of yellow rose-buds.
A reception was held following the ceremony in the church social room.
For going away the bride chose a forest green gabardine suit with black accessories, and upon the return of the couple from a two week's honeymoon in the southern states they will reside at 35 South Torrence Street.
The bride is a graduate of Detroit High School of Commerce, Detroit, Mich., and is employed at the Fidelity Medical Company, Dayton, and the groom, a graduate of Washington High School, spent three years in the AAF with overseas duty in the South Pacific.
He is now crew chief of an airplane ground crew at Wright Field, Dayton.
