Obituary of Robert Alfonso Burnett

ROBERT A. BURNETT CLAIMED BY DEATH

Robert A Burnett, sixty three, Superintendent of the Municipal Garbage & Sewage Disposal Plant, Died at his home, No 221 Reed Ave., Saturday evening after an illness of several weeks. Death was due to paralysis of the bowel. News of Mr. Burnett's death will be learned with deep regret by the hundreds who had known him. he was pleasant to everyone, and always had a kind word to say. He was one of the best liked men employed in the city services and had a kind word for everyone. He was a republican and except for a short time had been superintendent of the garbage and sewage plant since 1906. Mr. Burnett came to Marion in 1901 from Washington Courthouse, where he had been prominent in business, his plant being destroyed by fire in 1905. Mr. Burnett was married to Mi9ss Elizabeth Allen, who survives him, at Washington C.H. in 1874.r children were born to them, three of whom are living. Those living are: Bessie, wife of L.M. Kiner of Columbus; Evaline, wife of William Hallandshead; and Emmett Burnett of Marion. The deceased also leaves the following brothers and sisters: Hon. W.J. Burnett and Mrs. B.L. Myers of Cummings North Dakota; Mrs. Jennie Conner of Livingston, Montana; Add Burnett of Columbus and Charles Burnett of Washington C.H.
