YOUTH DROWNS IN PAINT CREEK EARLY THURSDAY

FALLS INTO THIRTY INCHES OF WATER WHILE FISHING

WILLIAM F. GRIMM LOSES LIFE NEAR MADISON MILLS

Madison Mills, April 16. William F. Grimm, aged 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Grimm, residing one mile north of Madison Mills, fell into the waters of Paint Creek while fishing near his home early this morning, and his body was found at 8:30 when members of the family went in search of him.

It is supposed that he was seized with an attack of epilepsy to which he was subject, and fell headlong into the water, drowning in less than thirty inches of water before help could arrive.

The young man had left the house quite early, and had been at the creek, the North Fork of Paint, for sometime before his body was discovered.

The spot where he met his death was about a quarter of a mile from his home, and tracks indicated that he had fallen into the stream while anchoring a stick in the bank upon which was one fish he had captured.

Coroner M.S. Tracy was summoned, and in commpany with Sheriff Ramsay went to the scene. It was established that the young man had been seized with an attack Wednesday night, and had not fully recovered from its effects when he arose Thursday morning and started to the creek to fish. Whether he was weak, and the chill of the waters benumbed him so that he could not lift himself from the water, or whether a second attack had come on him as he was leaning over anchoring the stick containing the fish, could not be established.

In addition to the father and mother, the deceased leaves several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at the M.E. Church here Sunday afternoon at two o'clock and interment will be made in the Madison Mills Cemetery.
