Obiturary of Mary Frances Garringer
Mary Frances Kerns Garringer went home to her Savior, April 2, 2014, in Jamestown, Ohio, after suffering from Alzheimer's for several years. She was born August 2, 1944, in Fruitdale, Ohio, the youngest daughter of the late Lewis and Marie Lytle Kerns. Mary graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1962.
Mary married David "Bo" Ralph Garringer on March 28, 1964. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with a card shower from their family and friends.
Mary was a devout loving Christian, who was a stay at home mom, until her children were in high school, before working outside of the home. She began by working as a teacher's aide for Greeneview School District. Mary went on to be the book keeper to Flo-lizer Fertilize Co. in Jamestown. After Flo-lizer, Mary was a book keeper for Kennedy's Bible Bookstore in Xenia for several years prior to her retiring to spend her winters with Bo, family and friends in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She loved her family, grandkids and her garden.
Mary is survived by her loving and devoted husband; a daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Mike Burba of Jamestown, grandson, Eric (Lauren) Burba of Beavercreek; two granddaughters, Sara (Brian) Budnick fo Phoenix, AZ and McKenzie Garringer of Georgetown, IN; a step grandson, Blake Bramer of Cincinnati; and two great- grandsons, Judah and Solomon Burba of Beavercreek. She is also survived by two sisters, Terry (Charlie) Edgington of Greenfield and Mona Peter of Deland, FL; a sister-in-law, Laura Kerns of Xenia, two brothers-in-law, Larry (Mick) Garringer of Jeffersonville and Dennis (Elisa) Garringer of Washington C.H.and sister-in-law Sharon Hagler of Washington C.H.
Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by a son, Todd Garringer; Two brothers, Donald Kerns, Richard Kerns and sister, Virginia Wright.
A Celebration of Life service will be Monday, April 7, 2014, at 2:00 pm at the New Life Worship Center of Jamestown (27 W. Xenia St. Jamestown). Visitation will be from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the Silvercreek II Cemetery, Jamestown.
